The Church is the Body of Christ, and includes all those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation (John 3:16; I Corinthians 12:13). The word "church" comes from the Greek word ekklesia, which is defined as "an assembly" or "called-out ones". The root meaning of "church" is not that of a building, but a people.
The purpose of gathering weekly is to provide a time to celebrate together, as a community, with praise and worship to God, and to have a time to help individuals live out the Gospel in everyday life.
"The Good News", which is the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, when accepted and applied, attones, (pays the price) for personal sin and gives us the ability to have a relationship with a Holy And Just God. The Gospels in the Bible are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
A life lived in God's Presence, by Participation with God's Kingdom Plan of Jesus, for all people!
