Don't
Miss Your Hour of Visitation
We hear much about 2008 being a year of new beginnings and I definitely agree with that. The danger I believe that we face is the same thing that happened 2000 years ago upon Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The very one that the people were waiting for finally entered, and they did not recognize
the move of God. We must be careful that in 2008 we don't miss the visitation of God among us.
Jesus went to Israel to bring revival and they missed their hour of visitation.
It is possible to be so focused on what we believe and what we are expecting that we predetermine the looks of our expectations, and we miss it when it arrives. Many times we focus on corporate revival and we miss the fact that Jesus is seeking individuals to be revived.
In Luke chapter 19, Jesus reveals some truths in regards to His desire to revive His people and set them free. Prior to Jesus entering Jerusalem, He told His men that He had need of a colt that was tied up in the village. The message He sent us is simple…He knew where that colt was tied up 2000 years ago and today, He knows where you are tied up in life and He wants loose you! That colt probably felt that he didn't need the Lord and many people in society today feel the same way. However, the Lord needed the colt and He needs you today! Why? We were created for His divine purpose and everyone has something to be released into this earthly realm.
God knows where you are and what you are tied up to, and He wants to untie and revive you.
He wants to anoint you to fulfill His purpose in your life! Often, we feel that God doesn't want any part of us because we may be bound in an area of our life. BUT God isn't calling you because you are perfect. His calling for a donkey doesn't convey purity, it means purpose. The colt was far from clean, but remember that Jesus calls us because, like that colt, we were created for His purpose.
Know that today; the Lord has need of you. In your moment of despair, pain, loneliness, or any issue you are facing, God seeks to remove those ropes around your neck and set you free, revived and refreshed. Today I believe God hears the cry of the nations and wants to bring revival to them. Israel was looking for the Messiah that was promised to unite and revive them. However, they were caught up in their issues in life and those issues acted as a rope around their neck, keeping them bound. As a result, they missed His visitation in their life.
Ironically, this happens in society today! We become distracted by our issues and many times We miss His visitation.
The Lord came to Moses on the back side of the desert, because He knew where Moses was “tied up” with the events of his yesterday. No one else knew where Moses was But God! The Lord told Moses that He wanted to “take off the rope and loose him” because He had need of him. God had a purpose for Moses, before he was even in the basket in the Nile River! The events in Moses life had tied him up, but God was now ready to loose him for his purpose. Just as Moses, God desires to resurrect you from your past to give you a future to possess!
God also knew that Elijah was “tied up” in fear of Jezebel, but He came to loose Elijah from that fear and put him back on track. God knows where you are today and He has need of you! Let Him untie the rope of issues that has you bound and let Him revive you to your destiny!
In 2008 God wants to take His church, the Body of Christ, to another dimension, but we need to first be loosed from the things in our life that have us tied up. I believe God wants to enter our life as He did that day in Jerusalem, riding on a colt. He does not want us to miss the time of His visitation. When He sees his body held captive, He wants to bring revival and refreshing. Remember, revival is not being delivered from something, it is to something! You are valuable to God and He needs you to take His purpose and release it into the world.
It may be time to hammer a nail, answer phones, teach Sunday school, visit a sick person, write a check or bake a cake. My point is there is something in you that God needs. The devil wants that rope around your neck to prevent you from being used to your fullest potential, but God desires to loose you because He loves you. He knows where you are and what you are bound to, so don't miss your time of visitation and be free! Jesus said that He came to set you free and whom He sets free is free indeed!
