In
Acts Chapter 1, Jesus commands His followers to take the Gospel into the
world in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Interestingly, He told them to first take the Gospel to their own
home time of Jerusalem before they went to the very ends of the earth.
Our missions program at SCC follows the same pattern that Jesus set
forth. Our missions have two
components to accomplish the command: local missions and foreign missions.
The Gospel must first be validated in our own lives, families and
back yards before we can take it to the ends of the earth.
It is only by our success locally in missions that we can have the
provision and ability to succeed in our Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost
parts of the earth.
Through
a variety of creative means and methods we are making relationships and
presenting the Gospel both here and abroad.
We support native ministers and ministries in a variety of foreign
countries, both financially and by sending our own missions staff to labor
with them in the harvest fields. The
fields are white here and there! Through
your prayerful, monthly financial and physical support of our missions
ministry, you can help us thrust the sickle into God’s great harvest.
The last Sunday of each month is recognized as
“Mission Sunday” with a special offering being taken for SCC’s
Missions Outreach.

My Sheep Ministries Food Pantry: The word "Ministries" is
what we really are. Handing out food only meets a temporary need, but the
ministry of Jesus Christ brings His presence with eternal perspectives.
Through a very volunteer intensive ministry we provide personal interaction
with the love of God expressed through human hearts and hands. We provide
prayer and Bibles if desired, clothing and household goods as available,
nutritional and health education, certain health services, access to other
S.C.C. programs and referrals to other agencies and services. Yes, we
address nutritional issues on the day of the week that we operate, but our
goals are always spiritual. Most of the issues that bring people to our
pantry in the first place, either have a spiritual component or solution..
Obviously there are chronic problems, but we do experience victories! Your continued financial support allows us to continue to
work miracles!
We were able to provide 53,973 meals in 2006.
